Welcome!

I’m Kyle Gontjes, a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Michigan Medical School.
My research integrates clinical metadata and whole-genome sequencing to investigate the evolution and transmission of multidrug-resistant organisms in complex populations, including those in long-term acute care hospitals, nursing home, and household settings.
I conduct my research in the Snitkin Lab, where we focus on microbial genomics, molecular epidemiology, and bacterial evolution.
